FMS Guided Visuals Added For Additional Runways
FMS Guided Visuals Added For Additional Runways
Earlier this year Honeywell added FMS lateral and vertical guidance for the circling approach to Teterboro (KTEB) runway 1. The intent is to improve the likelihood of a consistent and stabilized approach in the portion of the procedure requiring a visual maneuver to the runway. Based on customer input we have added several more FMS guided visuals for the following runways:
- Chicago Executive - Palwaukee (KPWK) Runway 34
- Palm Springs - Thermal (KTRM) Runway 35
- Van Nuys (KVNY) Runway 34L
- Scottsdale (KSDL) Runway 21
Customers currently subscribed to Honeywell’s RNP navigation database will find the procedures named RNAV V RWY XX in their databases. (Note: Procedure naming will be changing to RNAV H RWY XX to eliminate potential confusion with visual procedures created by other entities.) The procedures may be loaded and flown when cleared for the visual approach. They provide lateral and vertical guidance down to the runway and may be coupled to the autopilot in VGP mode. Operators that currently receive the RNP database will also be provided a chart from Honeywell.
Honeywell is currently working on more guided visuals as well as developing an offering for customers that are not RNP qualified.
