Mark VIII EGPWS

The Mark VIII enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS) is Class A terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS) ideal for business jets and large turboprops with transcontinental flights, providing protection against controlled flight into terrain (CFIT).

The Mark VIII enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS) offers many features and interfaces found in other EGPWS products like Mark V and Mark VII but the system configuration is controlled via a programmable module instead of aircraft strapping.

  • The Mark VIII supports advanced electronic flight information systems (EFIS) like the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21, Primus 1000, Primus Epic CDS/R or the SPZ-8000.
  • The Mark VIII can be flexibly configured for runway lengths of 3,500 feet or greater (for use in business jets) or runway lengths of 2,000 feet or greater (for use in turboprops).
  • The Mark VIII uses Air Transportation Association (ATA) format personal computer memory card international association (PCMCIA) cards for easy software and database loading. These cards can be read or programmed by any personal computer with the appropriate interface.
  • An optional 8-channel global position system (GPS) card is available.
