Operator Brings Coffee and Supplies to Medical Workers, Police and Fire Stations in Mexico

These past few months have been hard and trying for many, it is a bright light to see individuals from our close-knit aviation community rise as heroes to help those in need.

Well-known philanthropist Cap. Angel Fernandez -- and Honeywell customer -- didn’t hesitate to help the rural communities and essential workers in Mexico once the COVID-19 crisis hit. Based in Veracruz, Mexico, Angel is the owner of the family business Gran Café de la Parroquia which dates back to 1808 and is the second business to be established in Mexico.

During times of crisis, Cap. Angel Fernandez has been flying his Eurocopter Colibri to areas with difficult or limited access to deliver medicines, food, water and groceries.

Additionally, Angel has sent coffee trucks and stations to hospitals, senior homes, fire and police stations to keep essential workers going with a hot coffee and freshly baked bread. It is estimated that Café La Parroquia has been serving more than 2,000 cups of coffee and pastries every day at no cost.

Cap. Angel Fernandez is a long-time Honeywell customer with a Learjet 31A with a TFE731 engine, who uses a gold Maintenance Service Plan warranty to protect his engines. He is a frequent supporter of the Honeywell customer events and sponsored the Toluca Operator Conference for several years. We would like to thank Cap. Angel Fernandez and all the heroes that are going above and beyond for their communities.
