Connect to Protect: Honeywell Ensemble Ushers in a New Era for MSP
Connect to Protect: Honeywell Ensemble Ushers in a New Era for MSP
For decades, business jet owners have trusted the Honeywell Maintenance Service Plan (MSP) to protect their propulsion engines. Now, with the introduction of Honeywell Ensemble, the program takes a leap forward by harnessing the power of digital technology. This advancement simplifies MSP usage, provides enhanced engine performance insights, improves aircraft uptime, and helps operators avoid unexpected maintenance downtime.
“We’re always exploring ways to enhance our MSP programs and increase their value for Honeywell HTF7000 and TFE731 Next Generation engine operators,” said Nazar Janabi, Honeywell Senior Offering Manager. “With Honeywell Ensemble, we’re integrating digitalization and connectivity to deliver even more customer value and a superior ownership experience.”
Key features of Honeywell Ensemble include:
- Automatic engine data downloads for analysis, compliance, and optimizing rebates through the MSP usage-based plan.
- Near real-time access and analysis of engine performance data after every flight.
- Early detection and proactive management of potential issues before they escalate into operational disruptions.
- Enhanced recordkeeping with one of the first searchable digital logbooks in business aviation.
Honeywell Ensemble is enabled by installation of a Honeywell Engine Data Gateway on each aircraft. This small device collects data from the aircraft’s engine computers and transmits it via Wi-Fi to Honeywell Forge and a designated engine trend monitoring provider, allowing for engine condition analysis after each flight.
Engine performance data can be reviewed and assessed almost immediately, from any location, via the user-friendly Honeywell Forge engine data viewer. By automatically capturing and reporting engine data after every flight, potential problems can be identified and addressed early on.
Honeywell Ensemble: Automatic Data Reporting and Digital Logbook
The data collected by Honeywell Ensemble also plays a critical role in calculating the monthly rebates operators receive through the usage-based MSP program, which rewards operators for reducing wear and tear on the engine. By automating data downloads, operators can save on maintenance costs while maximizing available rebates. For example, a typical operator could save up to $20,000 annually through usage-based MSP, depending on flight hours, fleet size, and other factors.
Honeywell’s Digital Logbook (releasing soon) also addresses a longstanding challenge for flight departments: keeping maintenance records accurate and organized. The secure portal makes it easy for flight teams to track and update these records, with the logbook delivered alongside new Honeywell engines and soon to be available for existing ones.
As the logbook is cloud-based, it can be accessed 24/7 by maintenance personnel, whether in-house or at maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) centers. Honeywell’s logbook also stands out as the first to feature robust search capabilities, allowing users to quickly locate FAA 8130 forms, Honeywell service bulletins, and other essential documents.
“The capabilities of Honeywell Ensemble further enhance the value MSP provides to our turbofan engine customers,” said Janabi. “We will continue to leverage Honeywell’s leadership in connectivity and digital solutions to ensure MSP continues to evolve and improve in the future.”
