Compact Fly-By-Wire Flight Control System
cFBW is based on technology developed for the Honeywell flight control systems certified on the Boeing 787 and Embraer ERJ170/190.
- Development maturity - cFBW has supported flight-testing of four vehicles (Part 23, eVTOL, crewed, and fully autonomous).
- Modern electronic components and packaging technology result in a passively cooled computational platform that is small/light in support of the eVTOL, Part 23 and SAIL (specific insurance & integrity level) 4 UAV markets.
- Baseline triple channel system designed to meet the most stringent certification requirements associated with Part 25 and SC (special condition) VTOL.
- Dual channel architecture is available to support the safety requirements of a Part 23/SAIL4 vehicle.
- Supports the implementation of advanced functions (envelope protection, control laws, system monitoring, etc.) developed by the OEM or Honeywell.
- With re-use efficiency, OEMs can integrate the cFBW on an initial platform then cost-effectively reuse across multiple applications.
- Speed to market; Type-A FCC (flight control computer) is available today with red label hardware from production supply chain. Dissimilar FCC types will be available soon.
- The development of the cFBW solution is based on Honeywell’s well-proven processes that align with Development Assurance Level A.
