Combined Hydrocarbon Ozone Catalyst (CHOC4)

This recoat/recore upgrade for ozone converters significantly reduces odors from bleed air, ensuring cleaner cabin airflow for safer, more reliable operations.

The fourth-generation Honeywell Combined Hydrocarbon Ozone Catalyst (CHOC4) is a recoat/recore upgrade for ozone converters that eliminates ozone and significantly reduces odorous compounds from bleed air. This contributes to cleaner cabin airflow and safer, more reliable operations.

Our revolutionary CHOC4 technology is up to three times more efficient at odor reduction than existing ozone converters, eliminating greater than 90% of odor-causing Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) contaminants from bleed air. Further, it can operate at lower temperatures than legacy ozone converters and meets OEM ozone conversion life requirements.

The Combined Hydrocarbon Ozone Catalyst can reduce severe Smell in Cabin (SIC) incidents, saving operators up to $1.7M annually by decreasing unscheduled maintenance and repairs and keeping flights on schedule. The improved air quality from the reduction in VOCs can also minimize adverse health effects such as headaches, nausea and nose/throat irritation or discomfort.
