Derco & Honeywell: A Partnership Built on Service, Quality and 100,000+ Part Numbers

Derco, A Lockheed Martin Company, is a sustainment division of Lockheed Martin and one of Honeywell’s major part distributors and repair centers. The Milwaukee-based business supplies more than 100,000 unique Honeywell part numbers to domestic and international customers and provides nearly 40 years of experience in aircraft support.

Supporting the C-130 was their focus in the early years when Derco was founded in 1979 as a family business by Eric and Max Dermond. As the company’s capabilities expanded so did the variety of platforms they supported, which now include transport aircraft, fighter jets, utility aircraft, and helicopters. Some key aircraft include UH-60, P-3, C-5, and Boeing’s F-18 and F-15. Today, the company is headquartered in a three-building campus in Milwaukee and has a dedicated team of about 240 employees worldwide.

“We’re known for having a highly engaged, customer-focused workforce,” says Kaan Tuncel, director of Derco Strategic Relationships. “We are very active in the community and were named one of the top places to work in Milwaukee for the third consecutive year.”

Over the past 38 years, Derco has also grown its customer base and now provides aircraft spares, services and solutions to customers in more than 65 countries. More than $90 million in unique parts are stocked in Derco’s on-site warehouse so purchase orders can be filled and shipped to the customer on the same day. Derco forecasts and analyzes customer usage rates worldwide to increase part availability and to extend pricing discounts to customers. They closely partner with more than 30 equipment manufacturers, including Honeywell.

“We’ve been working on Honeywell equipment for more than 30 years, and we’ve been an official channel partner since 2001,” Tuncel said. “We have an outstanding relationship with Honeywell, which is based on a shared commitment to provide exceptional service and quality for customers everywhere in the world.”

Some of the Honeywell products that Derco repairs and distributes are air turbine starters, pneumatic system Line Replaceable Units (LRU) and piece parts, vibration monitoring systems and flight deck avionics. They are known for exceptional customer service, turn-around times and quality.

Honeywell customers also may be familiar with Derco‘s Federal Aviation Administration-certified repair center that services C-130B/H and L-100 pneumatic systems. By offering these repairs and actively participating in the marketing and distribution of Retrofit, Modification, and Upgrade (RMU) technology, Derco helps Honeywell extend the service life of older military aircraft. They are instrumental in developing and implementing system upgrades such as the C-130 Supplemental Performance Enhanced Components (C-SPEC). Now as a part of Lockheed Martin, Derco partners with Honeywell to provide both strategy and daily benefits allowing for improved support to operators and MROs worldwide.
