What do you like about being an assembly mechanic?

Shane: I like that I’m able to share my aviation experience with the other mechanics and learn from the senior mechanics and engineers. There is a lot of knowledge among the people working on T55 and we learn a lot from each other.

Robert: It takes a lot of brains to do what we do. It can be a challenge, but I enjoy every minute of it.

Why do you find rewarding about working on the T55 engine?

Robert: I believe that when I come home to my family, knowing I did the best of my ability to build an engine for an important customer and that those operators get to go home safely families to is the most rewarding. The work I do makes a difference.

Shane: I like it because we’re building helicopters for the military. I am a veteran, so I feel like I’m still supporting the military in a way.

What do you want people to know about the T55 engine?

Shane: We are building engines to the highest quality. The people working on the engines put in their all and that’s why our customer relies on us to keep their aircraft in the air.

Robert: Everyone at Honeywell is always looking to make the processes and product better. That’s one of the things I enjoy about Supply Chain – we are always being challenged, and I enjoy a challenge.

What would you say to other assembly mechanics to inspire them to drive continuous improvement projects?

Robert: Be passionate about what you’re doing, that’s what’s going to give you ideas on how to drive improvements. Always been your ideas, concerns, and questions up – they will always be valuable. I love my job and I love what I do.
