Onsite with a Field Service Engineer: Sergey Serezhenkin

Onsite with a Field Service Engineer: Sergey Serezhenkin

Having a passion for avionics is a great starting point to uncovering a fulfilling and exciting career at Honeywell Aerospace. Just ask Sergey Serezhenkin an FSE – or Field Service Engineer – based in Moscow.

“I was always fascinated with the spectacle of flying and even after many years in the industry, I still am,” said Sergey. “I started my aviation career when I was in my late teens. I worked with a broad suite of Honeywell avionics before I even joined the company, in fact I’ve been in the customer’s shoes working for a major airline. These experiences give me a unique perspective when helping Honeywell customers solve problems.”

As an FSE, Sergey not only works with customers in his region, but also across the world. Every day he receives phone calls and emails from customers trying to resolve technical issues. He assists customers via remote connections to their maintenance laptops to troubleshoot and help load software. Sergey’s area of expertise focuses on SATCOM products, EPIC and APEX integrated flight decks, and cabin systems, and he is also happy to help colleagues anytime they need his expertise.

For Sergey, the FSE team is like a family, “I know I can pick up the phone anytime and the team will help me if needed.” The FSE team shares ideas, experiences, best practices and ongoing issues during daily telecons and they also get to meet face-to-face at regional conferences and training sessions throughout the year.

Sergey prides himself on providing quality service to make sure the customer is fully confident with the level of support Honeywell provides. “The ultimate reward is when you help a customer manage a problem,” he said.  “You can tell in the customer’s voice, or the look on their face, that your assistance is invaluable. That feeling is priceless. If the customer is happy with us, they will no doubt share their positive experiences with others in the industry.”

“I love doing what I do at Honeywell, it makes me happy,” added Sergey. “This job is never boring; every day I learn something new and I meet people who recharge me with energy.”
