Honeywell Expands Validation of Non U.S. RNP AR Procedures

Honeywell Expands Validation of Non U.S. RNP AR Procedures

Honeywell now validates more non‑U.S. RNP AR approaches, improving global navigation accuracy and supporting operators with expanded database updates.

What You Will Learn in This Article

  • How FAA Notice 8900.740 changes the review and approval process for foreign RNP AR procedures and what that means for operators.
  • Which non U.S. RNP AR approaches Honeywell has newly validated and added to its standard navigation databases.
  • How operators can request additional RNP AR approach validations to support their mission and operational needs.

Honeywell offers RNP AR procedures as an option in navigation databases for qualified aircraft. This subscription includes Honeywell's validation, which is FAA approved.

For operators, this expands access to validated high-precision approaches in key international locations, helping support operational flexibility and consistency across global fleets.

Honeywell was approved to validate both U.S. RNP AR and non-U.S. RNP AR procedures listed in the FAA’s Foreign Procedures Approved for RNP AR Operations list, found in Foreign Procedures Approved for RNP AR Operations Master List | Federal Aviation Administration.

What Has Changed

The FAA issued Notice 8900.740 on June 4, 2025, discontinuing its review and approval process for foreign Required Navigation Performance (RNP) Authorization Required (AR) procedures (OpSpec C384 Table 2). This change now allows Honeywell to include foreign (non-U.S.) RNP AR procedures that do not currently appear on the FAA Foreign Procedures Approved for RNP AR Operations list. For more details, see FAA’s Guidance for Foreign State Instrument Flight Procedure and Airport Review.

As a result, Honeywell has started validating additional non-U.S. RNP AR approaches for inclusion in standard RNP AR navigationdatabases, provided that the relevant country AIP data is accessible and validation is successful. The initial approaches that are validated and added to the databases include:

ESSA  RW01R   RNAV-X   ENGM RW19R RNAV-E
ENGM RW01L   RNAV-E   ENGM RW19R RNAV-N
ENGM RW01L   RNAV-O   ENGM RW19R RNAV-W
ENGM RW01L   RNAV-S   LOWI RW08 RNAV-Z
ENGM RW01L   RNAV-W   LOWI RW26 RNAV-Z
ENGM RW01R   RNAV-E   LPMA RW05 RNAV-Y
ENGM RW01R   RNAV-O   LPMA RW05 RNAV-Z
ENGM RW01R   RNAV-S   LPMA RW23 RNAV
ENGM RW01R   RNAV-W   LFLB RW18 RNAV-Y
ENGM RW19L   RNAV-E   MSLP   RW25 RNAV-W
ENGM RW19L   RNAV-N   MSLP   RW25 RNAV-Z
ENGM RW19L   RNAV-W   SBKP    RW33 RNAV-W

We will prioritize validation of other non-U.S. RNP AR approaches that are critical to your operations. Please send requests to Aviation.Services@honeywell.com with the relevant approach details (airport and approach identifier).  Note that if validation is successful, it may take multiple database cycles before the approach is available, due to anticipated high demand.
