Primus Epic Flight Management System 7.1 Software Upgrade

The FMS 7.1 software upgrade for Gulfstream PlaneView, Dassault EASy and Pilatus PC-12 cockpits provides the FANS 1/A capability needed for ADS-C, Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) to achieve preferred routing.

The FMS 7.1 software upgrade for Gulfstream PlaneView, Dassault EASy and Pilatus PC-12 cockpits provides the FANS 1/A capability needed for ADS-C, Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) to achieve preferred routing. CPDLC enables direct datalink communications between the pilot and ATC in text messaging form. FMS 7.1 also provides Protected Mode-CPDLC for aircraft operating over land in Europe.

For the Cert Foxtrot for Gulfstream aircraft, FANS 1/A also enables Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Contract (ADS-C), or passing critical flight data between aircraft and the air traffic facility.

Other benefits of upgrading to FMS 7.1 include the abilities to conduct RNP approaches, SBAS ap¬proaches (including WAAS-LPV), automatic previews, transition from long-range to short-range navigation and back.

Required for the 2020 Future Air Navigation System (FANS) 1/A Mandate on the following aircraft:

  • Dassault Falcon F900 Series, F2000 Series, F7X (EASy) (satisfies PM-CPDLC Mandate)
  • Gulfstream PlaneView Cockpits G350 / 450 / 500 / 550
  • Pilatus PC-12
