New Special RNAV (GPS) Approach Available for Aspen Runway 15
Honeywell Aerospace introduces a special RNAV (GPS) P approach for Aspen Runway 15, delivering stabilized guidance, lower minimums, night ops, and no added training.
What You Will Learn in This Article
- How the KASE RNAV (GPS) P Runway 15 approach improves operational safety and stability through a stabilized 3.5° flight path angle and extended visual segment with advisory vertical guidance.
- What operational advantages operators gain, including straight in LNAV minimums, night operations capability, and elimination of “dive and drive” procedures—without additional training requirements.
- Which aircraft and avionics configurations are eligible, and how Honeywell’s Advanced Navigation Database enables access to this and other special procedures.
Honeywell is offering a new approach for Aspen KASE runway 15. The KASE RNAV (GPS) P Rwy 15 approach provides significant improvement over the current public approaches with the following:
- A stable 3.5° FPA with an extended visual segment providing advisory vertical guidance
- Straight-in LNAV minimums of 2063 DH - 3 mi vis (CAT A, B & C)
- Ability to conduct night operations
- Available for both RF leg-capable and non-RF leg-capable aircraft
- No additional training requirements
This approach is available for most Honeywell-equipped aircraft (RNP AR capability is not required) and eliminates the “dive and drive” maneuver required with the current public approaches.
Procedures Available in the Advance Navigation Database
Honeywell is offering the KASE P procedure along with the following approaches and departures through the Advanced Navigation Database subscription. To see a list of the latest offering check out all of our special database offerings at: Enhance Your Experience - RNP-AR, FMS Guided Visual, A-NAV.
