Position Sensors

Overview
The Honeywell HMC1501 and HMC1512 are compact, surface-mount sensors designed for linear, angular, or rotary displacement in magnetic saturating fields. The HMC1501 features a single saturated-mode Wheatstone bridge that outputs voltage based on magnetic flux direction, while the HMC1512 uses dual bridge elements for extended angular range. Both offer cost-effective, space-efficient solutions for high-volume OEM applications such as position sensing, rotary speed and angle detection, and non-contact precision measurement. Leveraging Honeywell’s Anisotropic Magnetoresistive (AMR) technology, these sensors deliver sub-degree and sub-millimeter resolution, tolerate wide magnet-to-sensor gaps, and resist shock and vibration better than Hall-effect alternatives.
