SPS-4000 Precision Positioner

Overview
The SPS-4000 precision positioner is a military ruggedized design, ideally suited for acquisition, pointing, and tracking applications. The SPS-4000 is a modular and adaptable design, that supports a variety of electro-optical and RF sensor payloads on shipboard, ground, and airborne platforms.

Direct coupled brushless DC torque motors and high accuracy resolvers supported by kingpost bearing assemblies, provide superior control accuracy, low friction, and high stiffness, under harsh dynamic conditions. Integrated LOS stabilization using high reliability Fiber Optic Gyros, compensates for large-amplitude, low frequency disturbances from moving platforms in maritime, ground, and airborne applications.

Optional features include: coude optical path; 32-bit optical absolute encoders; cogless motors for low jitter tracking; sliprings/FORJ for high speed data transmission. The SPS-4000 is controlled using standard industrial grade servo control electronics or optional MIL-qualified control electronics, and are easily tuned for optimum performance with different payloads. 

The SPS-4000 weighs 3100 pounds (steel) and supports payloads up to 1000 pounds.
