SPS-2000 Precision Positioner

Overview
Honeywell’s SPS-2000 Precision Positioner is a military ruggedized design, ideally suited for acquisition, pointing, and tracking applications.

Honeywell’s SPS-2000 Precision Positioner is a modular and adaptable design, which supports a variety of electro-optical and RF sensor payloads on shipboard, ground, and airborne platforms. Direct coupled brushless DC torque motors and high accuracy resolvers supported by kingpost bearing assemblies, provide superior control accuracy, low friction, and high stiffness, under harsh dynamic conditions. Integrated LOS stabilization using high reliability Fiber Optic Gyros, compensates for large-amplitude, low frequency disturbances from moving platforms in maritime, ground, and airborne applications. Optional features include: coude’ optical path; 32-bit absolute optical encoders; sliprings/FORJ for continuous travel and high speed data transmission. The SPS-2000 is controlled using standard industrial grade servo control electronics or optional military-qualified control electronics, and are easily tuned for optimum performance with different payloads.

Honeywell’s SPS-2000 positioner weighs 265 pounds and supports payloads up to 500 pounds.
