SPS-1000 Precision Positioner
Overview
The new SPS-1000 precision positioner is an ideal system of choice for military applications and offers the industry’s best combination of reliability, precision, and affordability. The new SPS-1000 maximizes the use of Military COTS components, leading to significant cost savings and lead time reductions. Two key benefits of this modular design approach are: integral field-replaceable control electronics and a reconfigurable design allowing for utmost payload flexibility.
Direct coupled brushless DC torque motors and high accuracy 32-bit absolute optical encoders, supported by kingpost bearing assemblies, provide superior control accuracy, low friction, and high stiffness, under harsh dynamic conditions. Integrated LOS stabilization using high reliability Fiber Optic Gyros, compensates for large-amplitude, low frequency disturbances from moving platforms in maritime, ground, and airborne applications. Optional features include: sliprings/FORJ for continuous travel and high speed data transmission. The SPS-1000 is controlled using integrated industrial grade control electronics, and are easily tuned for optimum performance with different payloads.
The SPS-1000 weighs 110 pounds and supports payloads up to 150 pounds.
