CMA 6800 Cockpit Display
Overview
Honeywell’s CMA 6800 cockpit display is an LCD display upgrade for business aviation aircraft equipped with ED-800 cathode-ray tubes (CRTs) to significantly reduce maintenance costs and improve visibility in the cockpit. CMA 6800 is a replacement for Honeywell’s ED-800 CRT which utilizes LCD displays and LED backlights. The CMA 6800 is interchangeable on any aircraft and owners can upgrade one or all their ED-800 CRTs while still getting the full functionality of their displays.
The CMA 6800 cockpit display replicates the functionality of the CRT display with greater reliability, reducing the overall cost of ownership. It has built-in provisions for additional display capabilities through an internal CPU and additional interfaces making it an investment for aircraft owners.
This solution retains the use of existing symbol generators (and display formats/symbology) the existing EFIS controllers and related EFIS select panels. The CMA-6800 is a cost-effective solution compared to an expensive full cockpit upgrade with minimal down time required to perform the conversion.
