We’re Bringing Style Back to the Runway

We’re Bringing Style Back to the Runway

There’s a bird with a new look in town and some Phoenix Sky Harbor spotters have already noticed it strutting its stuff. For those of you not in the area, we’ve got your exclusive first look at our new 757 Honeywell #FUTURESHAPER livery.

Industry insiders know that an aircraft needs to be repainted every so often and for this last update, we wanted to show the world our brand and a few examples of the products and services we offer to airliners, business jets and general aviation markets. The 757 is the largest aircraft in our growing fleet of testbed aircraft and is used to test a variety of developing technology including new aircraft engines.

The first part of the paint job process began earlier this year with the 757 flight test aircraft being stripped and prepped before the application of the new paint. It took two weeks to complete the process and add the new paint.

The second part was recently completed in June and included the application of decals. A scale drawing of the aircraft was used to size the logos and verbiage accordingly. The largest letters on the aircraft are about three feet tall.

“The 757 continues to be one of our busiest aircraft because of its unmatched capability,” said Joe Duval, Director of Flight Test Operations. It’s always one of the first to receive our newest products and technologies for testing, ranging from engines, high-speed Wi-Fi via JetWave to a multitude of exciting cockpit technologies.

On top of that, the 757 will be key in developing upgrades to our industry-leading airborne weather radar (IntuVue RDR-4000).
