Quick Topic Video - Getting Approval for RNP AR
Quick Topic Video

July 8, 2021
Honeywell’s RNP Consultancy is here to help business jet operators with US registered aircraft obtain operational approval to fly RNAV (RNP) procedures that require special authorization, otherwise known as RNP AR. These types of approaches have been around for more than a decade, and Honeywell has been guiding operators through the approval process since the beginning.
Why Does the FAA Have Special Rules Around RNP AR?
Because of these close obstacle and terrain containment areas that are designed into RNP AR procedures and the tight navigation tolerances required, the FAA and regulatory authorities worldwide have special certification requirements for the aircraft and crew. US registered operators must comply with the FAA guidance in Advisory Circular AC 90-101 and obtain LOA/Ops Spec C-384 prior to conducting RNP AR operations.
This Quick Topic Video explains the details of Honeywell’s RNP Consultancy, the approval process, and benefits of RNP AR.
If you are considering adding RNP AR to your operations, please email us at FTS@honeywell.com.
