Low Field High Precision 1 2 and 3 Axis Magnetic Sensors

Overview
The HMC1051Z, HMC1052L, and HMC1053 sensors from Honeywell are engineered for ultra-sensitive, low-field magnetic sensing. Built on Honeywell’s proprietary Anisotropic Magnetoresistive (AMR) technology, these solid-state sensors offer superior performance compared to traditional coil-based magnetic sensors. Designed to detect both the direction and magnitude of Earth’s magnetic fields, the HMC105X family is ideal for applications such as low-cost compassing, UAVs and autonomous vehicles, magnetometry, and current sensing.

With flexible packaging options derived from the core HMC1052 chip, the family supports 1-, 2-, and 3-axis configurations—delivering compact, cost-effective solutions. A key differentiator is the near-perfect orthogonal dual-sensor design on a single chip, complete with shared set/reset and offset coils for streamlined integration.

The HMC100x and HMC102x sensors are compact, surface-mount solutions for one- and two-axis magnetic sensing. When paired with signal processing, they enable affordable magnetometer and compassing systems. These small-form-factor sensors are optimized for high-volume OEM designs and support applications including navigation systems, magnetometry, and current sensing. Leveraging Honeywell’s AMR technology, they deliver precise magnetic field measurements from tens of microgauss to 6 gauss, outperforming coil-based alternatives.

The HMC1041Z is a z-axis surface-mount sensor designed to complement other 2-axis magnetoresistive sensors, enabling space-efficient and cost-effective 3-axis magnetometer or compassing solutions. Perfect for UAVs, navigation systems, and current sensing, the HMC1041Z combines high sensitivity with Honeywell’s AMR technology to measure magnetic fields from tens of microgauss to 6 gauss. Its compact design supports seamless integration into high-volume OEM applications.
