Resolvers for Position Sensors

Resolvers for Position Sensors

A variable transformer in which, most commonly, both rotor and stator have two phase windings that are mechanically displaced by 90°.

Our history in resolver and synchro design and fabrication predates World War II. We have provided resolver-based position sensors for countless applications for over the past 75 years. Our resolvers are installed on numerous commercial and military platform. We have design libraries detailing thousands of existing designs from the very small (size 8) to the very large (size 72+).

A resolver is a variable transformer in which, most commonly, both rotor and stator have two phase windings that are mechanically displaced by 90°. Variation can have either rotor or stator with a single phase winding. The output of a resolver typically consists of a sine and cosine channels.
