Honeywell Makes Avionics Maintenance Costs Predictable for the Air Wing of the Armed Forces of Malta

  • The Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan improves availability of the Air Wing of the Armed Forces of Malta’s fleet of AgustaWestland 139 helicopters with reduced turnaround time.

ROLLE, Switzerland, Dec. 18, 2017 - The Air Wing of the Armed Forces of Malta has signed a three-year agreement with Honeywell (NYSE: HON) to enroll three AgustaWestland 139 helicopters in the Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan. The agreement streamlines the Armed Forces’ maintenance budget by offering predictable monthly costs to cover repair services for its fleet.

Honeywell’s Avionics Protection Plan (HAPP) is an extended warranty program that provides greater support for fleet avionics maintenance and aircraft availability. The program also includes delivering on-ground emergency services, paid air freight and no-charge loaner parts.

“Providing best-in-class avionics is only part of the solution. We are committed to offering the best support services to our defense customers to reduce aircraft-on-the-ground time and increase operational efficiency,” said Lubos Sramek, customer business manager, Honeywell Aerospace. “With the Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan, the Maltese Air Wing can rest assured that its avionics investment is protected while benefiting from shorter turnaround times on the ground.”

HAPP combines a selection of coverage options, so defense customers can choose which option best meets their requirements, such as exchange and/or repairs services. It includes extended warranties on all Honeywell avionics to maintain budget control and ensure helicopter fleet efficiency.
