New RNAV (RNP) Approach for Eagle/Vail, CO (KEGE) Runway 25

New RNAV (RNP) Approach for Eagle/Vail, CO (KEGE) Runway 25

Honeywell Adds RNP AR Approach for KEGE

Current Honeywell customers with qualified aircraft that subscribe to Honeywell’s RNP database will have access to this new RNP AR approach.

Honeywell is adding another great RNP AR approach to the collection: the KEGE RNAV (RNP) Rwy 25 will soon be available for those operators who currently subscribe to the RNP navigation database.

The new KEGE RNAV (RNP) P Rwy 25 approach provides:

  • Lower minimums: 288’ DA – ½ mi vis
  • A stable 3.2° approach to the runway
  • Guided missed approach for safe extraction
  • Night operations availability across aircraft categories

This approach eliminates the “dive and drive” maneuver, prevents excessive holding time waiting for improving weather, and will reduce diversions because of high minimums required with the current, traditional approaches.

Eligibility for the Approach*

Many aircraft with Honeywell avionics are eligible to use this procedure. Specifically:

  • Aircraft certified for RNP AR to RNP 0.1 lines of minima, RNP less than 1.0 in the missed approach, and RF legs are eligible
  • Flight Crewmembers must have completed an FAA-approved RNP AR training program and reviewed the KEGE RNP AR Briefing package (available from Honeywell)
  • The operator must hold FAA Letter of Authorization C384 and C081

*Customers with non-US registered aircraft should contact us for details as foreign regulatory requirements for special approaches may differ.

Want Access or Need More Information?

Current customers with qualified aircraft that subscribe to Honeywell’s RNP database will have access to the approach.  New customers that subscribe for the Eagle/Vail approach will also get access to the 400 US public RNP AR approaches already published.  Honeywell currently offers consultancy and support services to business and general aviation and airline customers.  We can help get you up and running for RNP AR.

Whether you’re an existing RNP customer or would just like to hear more about getting access to these procedures, please contact us at FTS@honeywell.com.
