Flight Services Update

Honeywell Forge Flight Services Update

Controlling air flow throughout the aircraft

Honeywell Forge Flight Services (GDFS) is constantly working to improve the flight planning experience. Through the launch of a revamped website, which includes a brand-new flight planning engine based on FMS algorithms, many improvements have been made over the old “My GDC” site. As many GDFS customers already know, these improvements are now available for beta test. All customers are encouraged to sign up, log in, and try out the new system.

The beta test can be accessed through the link at the top of the Dashboard. The new and improved website is slated to roll out this spring, so now is a great time to become familiar with it and provide feedback.

The new website allows users to revert back to the “Classic View” if they prefer. That link is found in the dropdown menu under the “Flight” tab, shown below:

Users will find that the new website is more user-friendly and features intuitive flight planning, as well as improved mapping, and more detailed overlays for weather and inflight hazard mapping along the proposed route of flight.

The new website also features three kinds of Optimized routing (Time Optimized, Fuel Optimized, and Equivalent Still Air Distance), instead of the previous single route under the old system.

GDFS is also working on improving EuroControl routing, and users will now be able to view basic performance details for each route, without having to fully compute a flight plan.

Shown below is a sample flight plan to Europe, displaying the NAT Tracks and weather, along with the proposed route of flight, and ETOPS compliance.

Shown here, a sample cross-country flight plan, depicting current weather and a comparison of the two highlighted routes. Customers may find this new feature useful when comparing the advantages or disadvantages of planning a certain route, and the visual depiction can highlight those differences.

The GDFS operations team is available 24/7 to help at any time with questions on the beta website and beta app. Customers who are not currently signed up for Beta testing may do so by accessing https://beta.flightservices.honeywell.com/index.php/manager/home and signing in with their Honeywell ID and Password.

For testing on the Flight Bag Pro App, customers should download the Apple TestFlight iPad app by installing https://testflight.apple.com/join/MO0Ybov0 and sign in using their Honeywell ID and Password.

GDFS would like to hear from their customers, and look forward to receiving all feedback: whether good, bad, or suggesting additional enhancements. Feedback can be emailed to godirectfeedback@honeywell.com. To send feedback from the app, shake the device to take a screenshot, make notes directly on the screen, then send via email.
