Honeywell Features Engines Maintenance Connectivity at Heli-Expo 2019

Honeywell Features Engines, Maintenance, Connectivity at Heli-Expo 2019

HAI HELI-EXPO, the world's largest helicopter trade show and exhibition, takes place this year March 5-7 in Atlanta and Honeywell will have a major presence with exhibits and information about engines and power systems, maintenance, connectivity and safety systems.

Honeywell will kick things off by participating in technical briefings Tuesday on the T53 turboshaft and LTS101 / HTS900 engines. Sponsored by the HAI Technical Committee, these briefings meet FAA requirements for training hours towards renewal of inspection authorization certificates.

On Wednesday, Honeywell will participate for the 7th year in a row in the HAI Rotor Safety Challenge with a presentation on “The Connected Helicopter”, which will include information for operators and maintainers about the current trends and products available to keep your operation connected.

In addition to technical briefings, customer roundtable meetings are scheduled with channel partners and distributors for the T53 and Authorized Warranty and Repair Stations (AWARS).

In the exhibit hall, engines being featured at Honeywell booth C3107 and channel partners include the HTS900, LTS101 and T53 as well as a low-noise, light-weight hybrid propulsion system.

“This show is a great opportunity for customers, operators and partners to learn about all our offerings in the vertical lift marketspace and give their input on ways to improve our products to support customer needs,” said Steve Williams, Vice President, Honeywell Defense Aftermarket Americas.

In the maintenance sphere, Honeywell’s Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) represents a revolutionary advancement in diagnostic technology by providing a range of tools required to keep helicopters operating at optimum condition. HUMS reduces unscheduled maintenance and mission aborts and increases operational readiness.

The Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan (HAPP) is the perfect solution for fixed-wing and commercial helicopter operators who want to keep their aircraft flying and control their annual maintenance budget with the industry’s premier fixed-price protection plan.

Safety is always the number one priority, Williams said, so visitors to the Honeywell exhibit can get the latest updates on Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) and Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) mandates.

Connectivity solutions will also have a major emphasis at the show with Aspire 200 and Sky Connect.

Aspire 200 is Honeywell’s smallest Inmarsat SwiftBroadband system, allowing passengers and crew to be connected during flight, reducing workload and sending real-time data quickly to and from the aircraft.

Honeywell’s Sky Connect Tracker III flight data monitoring (FDM) system is the heart of the helicopter operator´s mission management system enabling tracking, voice, and texting, as well as implementation of FDM/FOQA programs.

The annual Helicopter Association International show with an estimated 20,000 vendors, manufacturers and helicopter enthusiasts is the premier venue for the global helicopter industry to learn about the latest solutions and build professional relationships.
