Honeywell LED Landing Search Light Selected by Bell for the MV-75 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft
- Company to provide its advanced LED Landing Search Light in support of FLRAA’s mission.
PHOENIX, January 08, 2025 – Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) announced today that Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. company, has selected Honeywell’s LED Landing Search Light (LSL) for the U.S. Army’s MV-75 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA).
Honeywell’s LSL is an efficient, high-intensity landing searchlight that incorporates multiple functions in one to reduce pilot workload. Honeywell’s LED Lighting offers proven performance and is optimized to meet the stringent requirements of the MV-75 FLRAA missions with enhanced optical design, power and thermal management, and environmental protection while reducing operating costs and weight.
“The MV-75 FLRAA is crucial for the U.S. Army and will provide the Army significantly enhanced speed, range and lethality,” said Rich DeGraff, president, Control Systems, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies.
"Our proven Honeywell LED Landing Search Light has been optimized to meet demanding mission needs throughout the MV-75 FLRAA contract and subsequent active-duty service that will last beyond 2050. "
-Rich DeGraff, President, Control Systems, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies
Honeywell continues to invest in LED lighting technologies to enhance performance and reliability. Manufactured at Honeywell’s site in Urbana, Ohio, this new version is equipped with the latest component designs originally developed for the commercial aircraft sector, with modifications to meet the specified performance and installation requirements of the MV-75 FLRAA application. This LSL offers growth capabilities for future MV-75 variants, including a laser pro tracker to integrate with other potential EO/IR aircraft. Honeywell’s LSL has been developed from a family of products meeting the diverse needs of business jets and regional transport aircraft, light fighters, trainer aircraft and helicopters.
Earlier this year, Bell had selected Honeywell Attune™ and the Honeywell’s 36-150 auxiliary power unit (APU) for the MV-75 FLRAA program.
Honeywell Attune™ is a lightweight, low-maintenance and energy-efficient thermal management system that uses advanced technology to generate cold air or liquid to cool cabins and electronic components.
The 36-150 APU enhances mission readiness and flexibility of aircraft operations by providing a secondary source of electrical and hydraulic power.
