Honeywell And Arizona Cardinals Partner To Inspire Youth In STEM Education

  • By providing hands-on activities with robots, rockets, and more, partnership aims to empower the next generation of students to pursue STEM careers

PHOENIX, October 21, 2024 – Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) today announced a multi-year partnership with the Arizona Cardinals to help students grow their interest in STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). This new partnership supports Honeywell’s alignment of its portfolio to three powerful megatrends, including the future of aviation.

Throughout the season at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, Honeywell will host interactive activities for students including rocket-making, robot-building and 3D-printing. Additionally, for every Cardinals first down during the regular season, Honeywell and the Cardinals will contribute $250 for the “First Downs for Flight” fund, up to $90,000. This fund will go toward scholarships for women pursuing careers in aviation.

“Our partnership with the Arizona Cardinals is a perfect opportunity to celebrate STEM education and nurture the next generation of innovators in our community,” said Jim Currier, president and CEO, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies. “In the past two years, Honeywell has built partnerships with four local school districts in the Phoenix area because we know STEM education is crucial for cultivating a skilled workforce to tackle complex challenges in aviation. Now we can expand on that work and reach students from all over the state through this partnership with the Cardinals.”

“Honeywell is a proven innovator in aviation with deep roots in our community,” said Cardinals Owner Michael Bidwill. “We are thrilled to enter into this partnership that will positively impact Arizona youth for many years to come and help develop the next generation of leaders in STEM.”

How Students Can Get Involved

  • On Game Day: Visit the Honeywell area on the Flight Deck near the Kids Zone before games to join in exciting STEM activities like building robots, racing planes and rockets, setting up drones, exploring 3D printing, and testing your grip strength.
  • STEM Combine: A recurring community event where local high school and middle school students will compete in a variety of STEM-related activities. Blending football history with modern technology, the event features activities that highlight the science behind football giving students an immersive way to explore the STEM side of the sport.
