Honeywell, Ameco Sign License and Supply Agreement for Hydromechanical Units on Aircraft

Honeywell, Ameco Sign License and Supply Agreement for Hydromechanical Units on Aircraft

  • The HMU repair licensing agreement with Ameco expands the strong ongoing partnership between both parties

SINGAPORE, September 25, 2024 - Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) announced today at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Aviation Maintenance Exhibition (MRO Asia-Pacific) that it has signed an authorized repair and overhaul license agreement and a material supply agreement with Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation (Ameco), a subsidiary of Air China, to support the HMU repair of Air China Group aircraft.

The five-year licensing agreement allows Ameco to perform the in-house repairs on Honeywell's HMU for Boeing B737NG aircraft belonging to Air China and its subsidiaries. The Hydro-Mechanical Unit (HMU) is a mechanical device responsible for regulating and controlling fuel flow from the aircraft's fuel system to the engine. The HMU is part of a broad range of Honeywell technologies shaping the future of aviation. This is one of three global megatrends that Honeywell’s portfolio is aligned to, which also includes Automation and Energy Transition.

"We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with Ameco and remain optimistic about the growth opportunities in the Asia-Pacific aviation market. This collaboration underscores our dedication to supporting our channel partners in delivering safe and efficient fleet operations for their customers," said Eric Ai, Vice President of Airlines, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies.

Ji Li, General Manager of Marketing and Sales at Ameco, said, "We have enjoyed a longstanding partnership with Honeywell, whose exceptional product quality aligns perfectly with Ameco's core values of professionalism and efficiency. We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration with Honeywell in MRO and OEM services within the global aviation market."

Honeywell and AMECO share a long-standing history of collaboration, having engaged in extensive cooperation in material supply, parts maintenance, and overhaul to better address the MRO needs of local airlines. This new agreement will further boost Ameco's global competitiveness, expand its maintenance service network in China and the Asia-Pacific region, and enable faster, more efficient maintenance solutions.
