Honeywell Partners GAMECO To Enhance Aircraft Repair Capabilities In Asia Pacific

  • This partnership further enhances GAMECO’s third-party components repair capabilities in China, which will subsequently expand to the rest of Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE, 27 SEPTEMBER 2023 – At MRO Asia-Pacific 2023, Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) and Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co., Ltd (GAMECO) today announced a license agreement to authorise GAMECO as Honeywell’s third-party channel partner for aircraft component repairs.

This partnership signifies Honeywell’s first licensed third-party channel partner for airlines maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) in China. The five-year, non-exclusive agreement will support MRO activities on the China Southern Airlines aircraft fleet. These activities will continue to expand to other airlines in PAPC region, offering GAMECO access to a broader market and provides Chinese airlines with the opportunity to optimise repair capability resources.

“Our partnership with GAMECO marks a significant milestone in our relationship, which began in 2021. By licensing GAMECO for third-party airlines' component repair, we are not only expanding overall market reach, but also contributing to the growth of the aviation ecosystem in China and rest of Asia Pacific. This move reflects our commitment to drive developments in the avionics and aerospace components space, while also reinforcing our relationship with GAMECO and the trust we have in their MRO capabilities," said Eric Ai, Vice President, Airlines, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Aerospace.

"We are entering a new era of collaboration with Honeywell, one that brings transformative opportunities for both GAMECO and the broader aviation industry. The license to provide component repair services to third-party airlines aligns seamlessly with our vision for the future of aircraft maintenance. We are excited about the impact this partnership will have on our ability to provide world-class solutions and further consolidate our position as a leading MRO provider," said Marc Szepan, CEO, GAMECO.

The collaboration between Honeywell and GAMECO culminates in a comprehensive component repair license, encompassing comprehensive technical support for a full spectrum of repair capabilities. As one of the largest MRO players in China, GAMECO holds a pivotal role in advancing repair capability and market development. Under Honeywell's license, GAMECO will be able to extend component repair services to third-party airlines during aircraft maintenance, consolidating resources and aligning with the Civil Aviation Administration of China's (CAAC) call for enhanced capabilities.
