Honeywell Gains The 2022 Supplier Of The Year On Quality Excellence Award From COMAC

SHANGHAI, Apr. 7, 2023 – The 2023 COMAC Supplier Conference was recently held in Shanghai. Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON), a long-term partner of COMAC and a major supplier of ARJ21 and C919, participated in the conference. Primary Flight Control System provided by Honeywell for ARJ21 gained the “2022 Supplier of the Year on Quality Excellence Award of COMAC”. Xiao Jin, Vice President, Asia Pacific ATR OEM, Honeywell Aerospace, represented the company to receive the award.

"Honeywell is honored to receive this award which represents COMAC's recognition of our products, technologies and services. Over the years, we have established a close partnership with COMAC to provide ARJ21 and C919 with a series of advanced technical solutions and comprehensive supporting services,” said Xiao Jin, Vice President, Asia Pacific ATR OEM, Honeywell Aerospace, "Honeywell will continue to join hands with COMAC to support the development of China's aviation industry by enabling the development of products to win business opportunities in the global aviation market."

The ARJ21 regional aircraft, which has been put into commercial operation, is China's first short-medium range turbofan regional aircraft developed aligned with international standards and with independent intellectual property rights, which is an important milestone in the history of China's aviation manufacturing industry. The main flight control system developed, manufactured and supplied by Honeywell for the ARJ21 will help reduce pilot workload and keep flights safe. As the main interface for pilots to operate the aircraft, the system has advanced architecture and functions. The three-axis fly-by-wire flight control system is used on ailerons, spoilers, elevators and rudder, which effectively reduces the weight of the fuselage, reduces the time of scheduled and unscheduled aircraft stop maintenance, and reduces the operating cost. Honeywell is also supplying the ARJ21 with the Aspire 400 satellite communications system, which provides high-speed and secure voice communications and data connectivity to the cockpit.

Honeywell and COMAC have worked closely together since COMAC was founded in 2008. The ARJ21 regional jet is the first project of cooperation between the two sides, and the cooperation will continue to deepen on the C919 project. Honeywell witnessed and participated in the whole process of C919, a large domestic aircraft, from the blueprint stage to the smooth off-line, to the successful first flight, and airworthiness certification. Honeywell provided four sets of advanced technical solutions and comprehensive supporting services, including auxiliary power systems, wheels and brakes, flight control systems.
