Honeywell To Appoint Advanced Electronics Company As Regional Partner For JetWave MCX Installation

Honeywell To Appoint Advanced Electronics Company As Regional Partner For JetWave MCX Installation

Advanced Electronics Company will support JetWave MCX satellite communication system upgrade installations for the Royal Saudi Air Force

PHOENIX, April 12, 2022 – Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), a Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) company, and a leader in modern electronics, manufacturing and repair and maintenance services, to provide Honeywell JetWave MCX satellite communication system upgrade programs for the Royal Saudi Air Force and other regional operators of military and VIP aircraft.

The MOU marks a significant milestone for Honeywell as AEC will be the first regional partner based in Saudi Arabia to support the installation of Honeywell’s recently launched JetWave MCX satellite communication system.

“The MOU with AEC will offer significant benefits to operators and owners of Lockheed-Martin C-130 Hercules aircraft and other flying platforms through greatly enhanced satellite communications system upgrades,” said James Schaan, senior director, Defense and Space, EMEAI, Honeywell Aerospace. “This will be the first time we are able to offer this important upgrade and support in the region, as opposed to sending these aircraft to other facilities across the world, which will save operators significant time and cost. It is also fully aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.”

"We are proud of becoming the first regional partner to have access to Honeywell's JetWave satellite communications systems,” said Eng. Ziad H. Al-Musallam, president & CEO of AEC. “The MOU with Honeywell will advance AEC's technology offering and KSA's military capabilities and bolster the company's position as one of the key players in fulfilling one of Vision 2030's goals of localizing 50 percent of Saudi's military and security spending through localization and technology transfer.”

Honeywell’s JetWave MCX terminal is globally available and an ideal solution to meet the heightened needs of the defense segment. Its network-agnostic, wideband architecture provides access to nearly any Ka-band network, including those used by military and government aircraft for surveillance, combat, humanitarian missions, and search and rescue operations.
