Honeywell's BendixKing Completes Cockpit Solution for Harbin Y-12E Aircraft

Honeywell's BendixKing Completes Cockpit Solution for Harbin Y-12E Aircraft

Zhuhai, CHINA, September 29 2021 – BendixKing, a business unit of Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON), and The Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd. (AVIC) Harbin General Aircraft Industry Co.Ltd (HGAIC) will jointly integrate the AeroCruze 330 autopilot system to the Y-12E AeroVue integrated flight deck, which is currently under development. It provides the Y-12E with a proven, industry-leading integrated electronic flight-display system coupled with a superior autopilot. The upgrade will improve situational awareness and safety by presenting the surrounding environment to the pilot in one place, lowering pilot workload. It is available for forward fit and aftermarket installation.

“With Honeywell expertise in general aviation and its global network, the updated AeroVue cockpit solution will further enhance safety and operation efficiency of Y-12E aircraft, delivering the superior Honeywell user experience,” said Steven Lien, president of Honeywell China and Aerospace Asia Pacific. “Honeywell is very proud to be deeply involved in the development of China aviation industry. We are committed to moving forward together with our local partners through cutting-edge solutions.”

“I am pleased to further deepen our cooperation with Honeywell. It is also a key driving force for China domestic aircraft upgrading and development. I look forward to seeing a significant improvement in the performance of our Y-12E aircraft with Honeywell’s support.” Song Zhan, chairman of HGAIC, said, “We’ve been always committed to the development of China's aviation industry. In-hand with Honeywell, we are making every effort to build a bright future for China’s domestic aircraft.”

AeroVue is an integrated flight deck derived from the category-defining Honeywell Primus Epic and Primus Apex avionics systems, which are used worldwide in thousands of large business jets and air transport aircraft. AeroVue has been specifically tailored for retrofit into Part 23 class III and IV, and Part 25 aircraft. The system provides two primary flight displays; one for the pilot and the co-pilot, and a shared multi-function display, and replaces all of the legacy mechanical equipment. It also comes with the industry-leading SmartView synthetic vision system, flight management system, radios, ADS-B compliant transponder and autopilot.

The AeroCruze 330, also known as the KFC 330, is a full three-axis autopilot with a dual flight director that provides altitude preselect, integrated GPS rolls steering and emergency wing leveling. It offers both Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) approaches. It features a high-contrast touchscreen display for easy readability and control and mode annunciation that informs the pilot what affect each mode would have on the flight path, as well as a single knob to control frequently-used functions, providing enhanced safety.

HGAIC is one of Honeywell’s most important strategic partners in the Asia Pacific region. In 2015, Honeywell supported HGAIC obtaining certification for its Y-12F aircraft, with the Primus Apex avionics systems providing more flexibility, increasing safety and operational efficiency through the interface in cockpit, to fulfill operational demand of the type.
