Honeywell, Cameco Partner to Expand Aircraft Maintenance, Overhaul and Repair Capabilities in China

Honeywell, Cameco Partner to Expand Aircraft Maintenance, Overhaul and Repair Capabilities in China

  • Customers will have quicker access to more parts at lower prices.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 6, 2019 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) is partnering with China Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co. Ltd. (CAMECO) to improve aircraft dismantlement processes and make certified, preowned parts more readily available through its Honeywell Aerospace Trading division. The partnership was announced at the second China International Import Expo, and further deepens Honeywell’s relationship and collaboration with the Chinese aviation industry.

“We are committed to being the outstanding service provider of aircraft maintenance, refitting and engineering,” said Bing Long Shen, CEO of China Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co. Ltd. “This partnership with Honeywell Aerospace Trading will help us achieve greater business development overseas through its strong global distribution network.”

Honeywell Aerospace Trading (HAT) provides certified, preowned parts for a wide variety of aircraft, including both Honeywell and other manufacturers’ products. HAT serves aviation customers from commercial air transport, to business and general aviation, original equipment manufacturers, helicopter operators, and aircraft maintenance providers. According to the Dismantling Service Agreement and the Part Purchase Frame agreement that have been signed, HAT will obtain tear-down services and will be able to purchase parts from CAMECO.

Honeywell’s extensive global supply-chain network will bring more aircraft dismantlement opportunities to CAMECO, and HAT’s global network will also increase its parts-selling business. The partnership will also benefit customers, allowing them to have immediate access to the right parts at an affordable price, so that operators can keep their aircraft in service for better profitability.

“This is a significant milestone on strengthening our partnerships in the Asia Pacific region, which is a growing market with huge potential,” said Andrew Wong, Vice President, Airlines, APAC. Honeywell Aerospace. “CAMECO is the ideal partner to help us strengthen our maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities through providing affordable, serviceable parts to our customers.”

CAMECO and its sister company ApexAir are approved China Civil Aviation Regulations part 135, 145, 147 companies in China with a full aviation chain layout. CAMECO could provide one-stop maintenances services. Through this partnership with CAMECO, Honeywell can develop more efficient aircraft dismantling services and explore both domestic and overseas markets.  Honeywell’s global distribution network and strong OEM expertise, as well as its large airline customer base, will bring more opportunities to CAMECO to help expand their business.
