Honeywell Extends Agreement with OJets to Deliver World-Class Connectivity and Services
Honeywell Extends Agreement with OJets to Deliver World-Class Connectivity and Services
- Honeywell will continue to provide the private luxury jet Company OJets with in-flight connectivity services for increased flight safety and efficiency
SHANGHAI, April 15, 2019 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) has extended its agreement with OJets, a privately-owned provider of comprehensive business aviation services, to provide inflight connectivity services for their global fleet of business aircraft. This follows a contract in 2018 to supply OJets with Connected Aircraft solutions which includes Inmarsat Swift Broadband, Jet ConneX, ViaSat Ku Band and Iridium for their fleet as well as Flight Services for selected aircrafts.
“This agreement continues our strong working relationship with Honeywell and will further assist us in achieving our collective goal of providing passengers with tailored and enhanced flight experiences, in addition to heightened safety and efficiency,” said Philippe Crevier, Senior EVP, OJets. “We’ve found that Honeywell’s Connected Aircraft solutions are among the best offerings on the market and are well-suited for us to provide our customers and pilots with superior onboard connectivity and services.”
Honeywell JetWave is the only hardware that allows business aircraft to connect to Inmarsat’s Jet ConneX global high-speed connectivity network. Jet ConneX is the first consistently high-speed, global connectivity service for the business aviation market to span the world, and is currently the fastest. With JetWave, OJets passengers and crew can experience a Wi-Fi connection just as fast and reliable as what they are used to in the office or at home. GoDirect Datalink allows for seamless communication between the aircraft and ground stations which helps pilots stay connected to air traffic controllers while they are in the air — thus helping them to make informed decisions for a safer and more enjoyable flight, while increasing the operational efficiency of operators and maintenance teams.
“In the Asia Pacific region, 24/7 accessibility to a consistent and reliable internet connection has come to be expected — anytime and anywhere. As such, consumers need nothing but the best in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity for their business jets,” said Amit Kaul, Leader, Business & General Aviation, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Aerospace. “This agreement with OJets not only reinforces Honeywell’s capabilities for Connected Aircraft services within the business aviation market, but also affirms our position as a premier technology provider for business jet operators.”
With the future of business aviation becoming dependent on global and reliable connectivity, Honeywell leads the charge as an airborne satellite communications provider and technology developer. To date, more than 550 Honeywell JetWave systems have been installed worldwide for the business aviation industry. Customers that have adopted the solution include some of the biggest names in the industry — Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer and Gulfstream.
