Honeywell and Eastar Jet Sign Wheels and Brakes Agreement

Honeywell and Eastar Jet Sign Wheels and Brakes Agreement

  • Honeywell will provide Eastar Jet with access to its wheels and brakes exchange in addition to repair and overhaul services for the next five years.

Honeywell (NYSE: HON) is renewing its wheels and brakes contract for Eastar Jet’s Boeing B737NG fleet of 27 aircraft for the next five years. The extended agreement will provide high-performance Honeywell wheels and braking systems, including exchange, repair and overhaul services for the South Korea-based low-cost airline. Eastar Jet will benefit from Honeywell’s customer core team onsite, as well as faster repair turnaround time to ensure optimal aircraft performance.

As competition in South Korea’s low-cost airline industry increases, it’s increasingly important for airlines to ensure that their operations are not disrupted with unreliable and faulty parts. Honeywell’s wheels and braking system for landing, taxi and takeoff provide the balance of high performance and lower total cost of ownership, combined with a track record of reliability and versatility across the aerospace industry. This agreement helps Eastar Jet reduce flight delays and cancellations, providing passengers with the travel experience they’ve come to expect.

Honeywell is committed to delivering product innovation to ensure safety, comfort and satisfaction to customers. Our wheels are designed and manufactured to stringent aerospace requirements, while our braking solutions deliver a high degree of reliability, performance and excellent maintainability. The partnership allows Eastar Jet to increase its fleet performance, better management on maintenance spending and further improvement on operational efficiency.

Honeywell is transforming the hardware-based maintenance solutions into the connected maintenance by leveraging its experience in connectivity, software and services with the concept of the Connected Aircraft. The integration of Honeywell’s Connected Aircraft platform offers unique insights by harnessing the power of analytics, enabling operators to make more informed decisions, reduce operational cost and improve the overall flying experience. Honeywell will continue to expand its connected maintenance service to multiple parts of the aircraft, including auxiliary power units, wheels, brakes and environmental control systems. Honeywell Aerospace will showcase technologies at the Singapore Airshow 2018, Feb. 6–11, 2018, at its booth Q-23 and chalet CS32 in the Changi Exhibition Center.
