Aircraft Operators Upgrade Technology with Updated Parts Using Honeywell's Extended Warranty Program

Aircraft Operators Upgrade Technology with Updated Parts Using Honeywell's Extended Warranty Program

  • Owners and operators can enhance aircraft performance and reliability with Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan Extended coverage.

GENEVA, May 22, 2017 - Honeywell (NYSE: HON) has added a new extended warranty program to its Honeywell Avionics Protection Plan (HAPP). This feature helps operators cover potential downtime and unscheduled maintenance of flight deck technology. With the ability to exchange components one by one – a first – operators can save time and expense. This works in addition to the plan already offered with HAPP products.

As more business operators consider upgrading their cockpit avionics in the coming years, maintenance plans are one way operators can improve long-term aircraft investment. The existing HAPP covers like for like part number exchanges, Extended HAPP is expanded to cover cathode ray tube to liquid cooled display replacements that might be necessary, through simple annual payments. This new protection plan feature lets operators get rid of old technologies that will soon be unserviceable, and also benefit from Honeywell’s 24/7 services through its 600 authorized sales and service centers worldwide.

“Currently, operators must consider singular Retrofit, Modification and Upgrade for their cockpits, which can be time consuming and expensive,” said Mark Harding, HAPP Global Sales Director, Honeywell Aerospace. “With Extended HAPP coverage, operators can make primary display changes one by one, so pilots don’t have to be stuck with old flight deck equipment and can eventually increase the value of their aircraft. The fact that our products are also covered through our Spares Exchange Program means operators can expect quick turnaround on receiving spares, ensuring their aircraft stay in the air, not on the ground.”

By selecting the Honeywell HAPP Extended package as part of their service, customers can make significant cost savings on their Retrofit, Modification and Upgrade.

HAPP Benefits

The HAPP Extended program, targeting commercial and business aviation, also offers the following benefits to its customers:

  • Fixed price with annual contract
  • Early enrollment options for additional savings
  • No-charge loaners
  • 24/7 Aircraft-On-Ground emergency services
  • Paid airfreight
  • Fleet discounts
  • Flexible payment options
