Viasat and Honeywell Respond to Customers’ Need For Speed

Viasat and Honeywell Respond to Customers’ Need For Speed

Speed is of the essence for in-flight Wi-Fi users looking for an authentic office or living room in the sky experience – but business jet operators don’t want to watch their satellite communications costs soar.

Viasat and Honeywell have responded to universal customer feedback by uncapping download speeds on all existing JetWave terminals. Customers now have the ability to uncap their download speeds globally through two new Experience Plans (XP Plans) or simply benefit from uncapped download speeds on their existing plans during flights over the United States, Southern Canada and Northern Mexico.

Customers can also take advantage of value pricing on all JX airtime service tiers through Honeywell, a value-added reseller of Viasat airtime service plans. For example, Unlimited Plan subscribers could save as much as $240,000 per year compared to the former pricing structure. Comparable savings are available for other plans, according to Adam Sheppard, Honeywell Senior Director of In-Flight Connectivity.

“Current JetWave and JX airtime service plan customers at all levels are already experiencing the enormous benefits that come with speeds as fast as 40 Mbps and new, more affordable price points,” he said. “In-flight connectivity is essential and by uncapping download speeds and reducing costs across the board, Viasat and Honeywell can give business jet passengers a great Wi-Fi experience anywhere they fly without breaking the bank.”

Together, JetWave and JX create an unbeatable user experience with fast, reliable and always-available connectivity, Sheppard continued. “Now is a great time for operators to upgrade the passenger experience, take advantage of favorable pricing and futureproof their aircraft with JetWave.”

The original JetWave satcom was introduced in 2017 to much acclaim from business aviation operators. More than 2,000 aircraft are flying today with JetWave systems. Honeywell continues its legacy of satcom system leadership with JetWave X, the industry’s first multi-network satellite communications system, which is due to launch in 2025.
