Honeywell UV Treatment System Wins Technological Innovation of the Year at ABW Awards
Malik Prashant
Our CEO, Darius Adamczyk, in a recent interview mentioned that "Anything we do in Honeywell, innovation is always the key". There's no denying fact that Honeywell has always been a company of innovators, and we have 2020 to prove it. For most businesses, 2020 was a year of crisis and Honeywell was no exception to that. However, we responded in an efficient way by pivoting from well-established offerings to entirely new marketable solutions. Without innovation being part of our DNA, readjusting the offerings portfolio so quickly may not have been possible.
Aviation Business Middle East acknowledged Honeywell's heritage of transforming the industries we serve with cutting-edge technologies, by awarding us the prestigious Technological Innovation of The Year – for the UV Treatment System and IntuVue Weather Radar.
The award came when we were celebrating our 100-year anniversary as a listed company on the New York Stock Exchange – a milestone reached by only a few other companies. This is a testament of Honeywell’s longevity in technological leadership, which is founded on the unwavering pursuit of innovation, research and development, and our agility to adjust to changing conditions.
With Aerospace being one of the worst affected industries by the pandemic, and passengers losing confidence in flying, our UV Treatment System is designed to help operators improve passenger and crew confidence, minimize downtime and reduce cost of ownership.
The Honeywell UV Treatment System is part of a complete suite of products that inspire confidence through the entire travel journey, which include:
- End-to-end solutions for asset management, people flow and air quality monitoring with advanced built-in analytics for airports
- Automated systems for mask detection and infrared temperature measurement that help airports meet enhanced compliance and safety protocols while maximizing efficiency
- Combined Hydrocarbon Ozone Coating upgrade for ozone converters, which are up to three times more effective at preventing odorous compounds from entering the cabin air versus next best alternatives
- ECS Performance Check for providing airlines the critical airflow and ECS performance data remotely with predictive maintenance alerts and advanced analytics
Besides helping the aviation industry, Honeywell is breaking new grounds across sectors and launching innovative products and solutions that will shape the future.
We encourage you to stay tuned to discover what's the next idea that will change the way we work, live and fly.
