Building the Future Today

Building the Future Today

Since its foundation in 1946, our Honeywell Aerospace site in Yeovil, UK, has transformed and innovated to continuously meet the demands of the ever-changing Aerospace industry.

On our 171,000 square feet factory (the equivalent of nearly 13 Olympic-sized swimming pools), we specialize in several product lines. These include environmental control systems, life support systems, hydraulics systems, and control and data systems, and are used on a wide range of defense and civilian aircraft. Our engineers, technicians, supply chain experts and support functions are capable of complete system integration, including procurement, design, engineering, development, manufacture, altitude testing and qualification.

A heritage of talent

As we celebrate our 75th anniversary this year – 75 years of building exceptional talent – we’d like to celebrate our leaders of tomorrow. Our award-winning apprentice program offers participants an opportunity to earn their diplomas while working under a mentor and learning skilled manufacturing know-how, tailored to their career interests. Participation in the program develops highly sought-after skills, through assigned specialized projects.

"I wanted to continue my learning while gaining technical experience in the workplace, and I thought Honeywell was a great place to do that" said Shannon Reeves, third year business apprentice. "I’ve learnt so many interesting about the Aerospace industry, as well as to apply what I learnt in college to the workplace. My favorite experience was being involved in a large project to build a new facility, where I had the opportunity to basically run my own department."

Today’s apprentices are tomorrow’s leaders

Apprentices today represent about 10% of our Integrated Supply Chain workforce. A large number of our current leadership team members are also graduates of the apprentice program – a true testimonial of the site's long-term commitment to developing local talent.

"At Honeywell, we say that the future is what we make it, and we're doing just that: by training, supporting, mentoring, coaching our apprentices, we are shaping the future of our site, region, and industry", said Grant Christmas, Yeovil plant director and a former apprentice himself.

Meet our Yeovil apprentices and join the team.
