Honeywell’s 360 Display is designed to meet the rigorous demands of both aviation and ground vehicle operations, delivering unmatched situational awareness through advanced augmented and mixed reality technology.

“This exciting new 360-degree display was designed to meet military standards of ruggedness and performance, but it’s also ideal for commercial pilots, heavy equipment and crane operators, law enforcement, firefighters, search and rescue personnel and anyone else who needs to operate an aircraft or ground vehicle in hazardous or low-visibility conditions,” said Julie Heck, Sr. Director of Offering Management for Military Avionics.

The new display uses the latest augmented and mixed reality technologies to deliver advanced levels of situational awareness, operator effectiveness and safety, she added. “We previewed the 360 Display with hundreds of helicopter pilots and military and civilian vehicle operators,” Heck said. “The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Operators were impressed with the intuitive displays and low latency that the display delivers.”

Unlike competing systems, the Honeywell 360 Display simulates natural vision, providing a smooth, realistic view of the environment without the discomfort or nausea sometimes associated with extended wearable use.

The aviation version of the display is a wearable visor that provides a 360-degree, high-resolution view that aligns seamlessly with the outside environment. Augmented reality overlays allow pilots to see traffic callouts and flight instrumentation directly in their line of sight – ideal for flying at night, in poor weather or through congested airspace. The result is enhanced safety, increased pilot confidence and greater mission flexibility.

For military and civilian ruggedized vehicle operators, the 360 Display improves reaction speed, safety and survivability by increasing visibility in low-visibility or hazardous conditions. The helmet-mounted display integrates real-time external camera feeds with sensor data, placing critical information directly in the operator’s field of view. This reduces the need to look down at instruments, keeping attention where it matters most – on the surrounding environment.
