Qingdao Airlines Selects Honeywell Auxiliary Power Units and Long Term Maintenance Support

• Honeywell will supply its 131-9A auxiliary power unit and 12-year maintenance support for Qingdao Airlines’ A320neo fleet

ZHUHAI, China, Nov. 6, 2018 - Honeywell (NYSE: HON) has signed an agreement with Qingdao Airlines to supply auxiliary power units to Qingdao Airline’s new fleet of 24 Airbus A320neo aircraft. Honeywell will also provide a repair and maintenance program for these units for 12 years. This new agreement will help Qingdao Airlines manage its overall fleet cost. It will also extend Honeywell’s support to a total of 56 aircraft, including the airline’s fleet of 32 Airbus A320 aircraft.

The agreement provides a competitive overall cost of ownership for the 131-9A auxiliary power unit (APU) by allowing the airline to pay a fixed cost for repairs versus paying for each shop visit. It also provides Qingdao Airlines with outstanding performance and maintenance for its new APUs. Honeywell TAECO Aerospace (Xiamen) Co. Ltd. (HTAC), a Honeywell licensed repair and maintenance facility, will repair the 131-9A APUs for Qingdao Airlines’ new fleet. This domestic operation will assist Qingdao Airlines to reduce shipping costs and shorten its aircraft repair time. Combined, these factors will greatly improve fleet repair turnaround efficiency, and further enhance the airline’s profitability.
