Swiss Excellence You Can Count On!

Swiss Excellence You Can Count On!

The Swiss are world renowned for their quality engineering and their precision timekeeping – whether it’s one of their world-famous watch brands, or the clockwork precision of their trains. Well here’s another Swiss company that you can count on – Altenrhein Aviation.

Based in the beautiful surroundings of north-east of Switzerland on the shores of Lake Constance, Altenrhein Aviation is conveniently located in central Europe, with direct access to Zurich, Vienna and beyond.

Altenrhein Aviation is one of the leading service facilities in Europe – and an authorised Honeywell Service Center for the past 10 years. With vast experience and uncompromising Swiss standards Altenrhein Aviation provides a premium maintenance service for business jets, turboprops and piston aircraft.

As one of the most experienced Embraer Service Centers in the world, Altenrhein Aviation is uniquely placed to provide support to Phenom 100 and 300 as well as the Embraer Legacy 450 and 500 which are powered by the Honeywell HTF7000 engine. Altenrhein are also certified by Gulfstream and Pilatus, both of which have significant Honeywell content in place.

“Honeywell is a very important partner for us,” says Natascha Rode, Managing Director at Altenrhein, “we want to serve our customers in the best and fastest way we can. Of course, many of our customers’ aircraft have Honeywell engines, including the TFE731 on the Gulfstream 150 and the HTF7000 on the G280, as well as the Embraer Legacy 450 and 500 – not to mention the avionics suites and cockpits on many other platforms”.

Altenrhein recently completed the first installation of Honeywell’s Aspire 200® satcom system on-board a Phenom 300. The Aspire 200 system is Honeywell’s most economical connectivity solution offering high speed data. “There is great demand for connectivity. I think we all know about it” acknowledges Natascha, “We cannot live without the internet and I think the Aspire 200 is a great product which fits this platform and it's relatively affordable. And of course, there are a range of different data packages for the airtime that suits everybody”.

“The feedback we are getting from customers is that for any flight over one hour long, which is precisely the target segment of the Phenom 300, people expect to be connected. And of course, in today’s competitive market, you know once one operator offers inflight Wi-Fi, the others need to offer it as well because otherwise they will have difficulty in chartering the aircraft in the future.”
