Copperstate Turbine Engine Company Acquired by TAE Aerospace

Copperstate Turbine Engine Company Acquired by TAE Aerospace

In February 2019, TAE Aerospace finalized the acquisition of Copperstate Turbine Engine Company (CTEC), expanding TAE Aerospace’s Honeywell TPE 331 engine capabilities and positioning them as the largest Honeywell Authorized TPE 331 engine support provider. The acquisition provides customers with access to a wider range of engine and component services, as well as flexible and timely support on a global scale.

As a full-service turbine engine MRO company, CTEC’s capabilities include significant licensed part repair capabilities, an expanding component repair capability for all non-FCU components, and refurbishing expertise to save customers money on repairs. In addition to competitive turn-times, CTEC also offers an ever-growing and attractive component exchange program. As a result of this acquisition, TAE Aerospace can now offer TPE 331 customers full overhaul shop capabilities for the popular engines through the -15 AW, and is approved to repair engine part pieces and assemblies, fuel controls and LRU components.

Since being founded in 2002, CTEC has processed over 1,300 engines as a Honeywell Authorized TPE 331 Overhaul Facility. “CTEC has an excellent reputation in the U.S. as a quality engine maintainer. The 55 strong CTEC team has a real focus on the TPE331 engine, with a repair and reclamation capability that is the best in the world. By combining all these capabilities under one company, TAE Aerospace is now strongly positioned in the global market as the world’s largest Honeywell-authorized provider of TPE331 engine support,” TAE Aerospace CEO Andrew Sanderson said.

The TPE engine powers a range of aircraft including the Dornier DO 228, CASA C-212, Metro 23, Cessna Conquest and MQ-9 Reaper. With more than 13,000 engines delivered and more than 122 million hours of flight time, the TPE 331 is one of the most reliable and proven turboprop engines in the world.
