GoDirect Trade Wins First Place at the Design Management Institute (DMI) Leadership Conference

GoDirect Trade is an entrepreneurial, four-person startup within Honeywell Aerospace. It was formed as an independently operating enterprise, created to transform the $4.5B used aircraft-parts market. The launch of the GoDirect Trade digital platform has transformed the way people buy, sell and interact with one another in the aircraft used-parts market.

The GoDirect Trade team, powered by Honeywell, was awarded First Place for the Design Value Award on Monday, September 16th. As the longest standing global institution of its kind, DMI holds an exclusive position in the Design and Design/Innovation Management landscape. For forty-four years, DMI has been an active advocate for the strategic value of design.

The annual Design Management Institute Leadership Conference brings together educators, researchers, designers, innovators and leaders from every design discipline, every industry, and every corner of the planet to facilitate transformational organizational change and design-driven innovation. The Design Value Award is unique in that it doesn’t look at the design of the solution itself, but instead at its impact and the organizations’ utilization of design as a strategic asset to drive innovation, creativity, agility and culture change. GoDirect Trade and Honeywell Aerospace competed against many large-scale competitors such as 3M, Target and McKinsey for the title.
