Field Service Engineers – Americas

RYAN GOLDSTEIN

Senior Field Service Engineer, Propulsion/ Avionics, Albany, New York

Ryan was only six when he started his journey in aviation by learning to fly radio-controlled aircraft. He enlisted in the U.S. Army with an emphasis on helicopter avionics systems as a bench repair technician.

Post-military duty, Ryan has been responsible for construction and certification of a Class 3 FAA Radio Repair Station, authored an FAA -approved Repair Station Manual, and completed component level repair of radar systems, VHF communication AV systems, transponder, GPS and autopilot systems.

He earned his FAA Airframe and Powerplant license and began working on Honeywell RE100 and 36-150 series APUs, and Honeywell TFE731-4 and -5 series engines for Textron Aviation.

The satisfaction he feels when an aircraft delivers and the owner is pleased serves as a big motivator, as does his motto: “You can’t pull over at 41,000 feet.” He strives to always be honest and knowledgeable with the information he’s providing customers.

Ryan is working toward a bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His job expertise focuses on BGA APU, TFE731, HTF 7000, EGPWS, TCAS, VHF NAV/COMM, XPDR, Autopilot and Radar.

He was named FAA Southern Region Avionics Technician of the Year in 2007 and holds his FCC GROL license.

He has what he terms intermediate fluency in Spanish and enjoys fishing, hunting, camping and martial arts in his spare time.
