Field Service Engineers – Americas

HANS HOINAES

Senior Field Service Engineer, Phoenix, Arizona

Hans was introduced to aviation when Rockwell International hired him after graduation from the University of Wyoming with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. His biggest pleasure from his career in field service is assisting customers. His motto: “I’ll figure it out!”

Hans’ knowledge extends across many platforms and systems on air transport and business and general aviation aircraft. He worked on-site at Fokker BV in Amsterdam during development of the Flight Management System for the Fokker 100 and Fokker 50, leading a team during preflight, flight test, software load and hardware support.

He moved to Hamburg to support Lufthansa and all other German airlines, and opened a Honeywell FSE office in Copenhagen to support SAS and its upgrade of the MD-80/90 fleet and other airlines in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Greenland.

Hans was a staff engineer for Airbus and BAE platforms before spending three years at JetBlue in New York City covering A320s and EMB-190s. He received Honeywell’s Outstanding Engineer Award in 2014 for his JetBlue support.

Hans speaks Norwegian, Danish and Swedish with a background in German and Dutch. His hobbies include all kinds of handyman work, hiking, skiing, classic cars and cooking.
