Field Service Engineers – Americas

FERNANDO VASQUEZ ORELLANA

Field Service Engineer, Toluca, MEXICO

Aircraft communications systems have been a major interest for Fernando since childhood. He studied electronics in high school and obtained an electronics engineering degree from Bolivia University. Along the way, he took pilot and instrument flight training, confirming his interest in avionics. It’s a passion that remains strong today.

At Honeywell, he shares his customer support expertise in navigation communication and surveillance as well as in aircraft electric system and basic mechanical systems. Fernando is a Technical Core Team member for integrated systems, connectivity, navigation and TAWS for business aviation and commercial airplanes. He’s an instructor in electronics and aircraft systems.

Fernando believes listening and empathy are key to understanding customer needs, and works to learn from each person and scenario he encounters to gain their trust.

Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, he holds a Six Sigma Green Belt and is certified in PMP and Customer Service. He’s received Honeywell’s Customer Hero Award, peer awards and a sales award in ATR surveillance systems.

Fernando’s hobbies include mountain biking and fishing and he collects old cameras and projectors and electro mechanical calculators – and ask him about his interest in microcomputers, which started with the Z80.
