Field Service Engineers – Americas

DAVID GILMORE

Senior Field Service Engineer, Urbana, Ohio

David was just 18 when he got into aviation by joining the U.S. Air Force. He began by learning communication/navigation systems on the C-17, which branched off into learning the C-17, C-130, C-5 and KC-135 from nose to tail.

Today he loves aviation because it presents a new challenge every day and he says he thrives on a good challenge. That’s why his philosophy for the support he provides is “I may or may not know the answer, but if I don’t, I know the person who does.” For David, that translates to doing whatever is needed to solve a problem, no matter what it is.

His expertise is on the Primus Apex system and data loading, with engineering know-how on Primus 1000, 2000, Epic, and Elite systems, Primus II Radio, SPZ 8000/8400 and engineer NZ-2000/2010.

During his military service, he achieved Journeyman and Craftsman level (technician and inspector) on all the systems he worked on.
