Improving the Passenger Experience and Earning Incremental Revenue

Passengers want a good experience. On an aircraft, that requires attention to a few key details.

Our research shows that some of the top worries for passengers are weather-related flight delays (47%), recirculated air spreading germs and viruses (44%) and turbulence (32%). Other research points to the importance of Wi-Fi and staying connected to friends, family and work; 83% of passengers would choose an airline that offered in-flight Wi-Fi over a similar carrier that didn’t. This demand remains strong, with passengers looking to rebook on airlines that offer inflight Wi-Fi.

If airlines respond to that demand, they could earn $15.9 billion in incremental revenues by 2035, through online shopping, premium entertainment, and charging passengers for in-flight broadband access.

How We Help Passengers

We’re continually improving the passenger experience through technology that leads to improvements in:

  • Connectivity and entertainment
  • Turbulence avoidance
  • On-time arrivals and departures
  • Air quality and temperature control

We can equip aircraft with faster Wi-Fi—so passengers can work in the air, connect with people on the ground and enjoy more entertainment options than ever.

Bigger data pipes on an aircraft provide the means for more insightful information to enable safer, less turbulent flight paths; smoother take-offs and landings; and quicker maintenance turnarounds for on-time departures and arrivals.

Additionally, our cabin management systems allow for lighting, temperature, water system and entertainment controls to make flying more enjoyable. And environmental control systems keep the cabin pressure comfortable, scrubbing the air regularly of toxins, microbes, molds, viruses and even odors.

Four key elements impact passenger comfort: Better Wi-Fi, reduced turbulence/bad weather, more on-time arrivals and departures, and optimized air quality and temperature.
