Honeywell Engines to Power New Fluidic Propulsive System for the Defense Market

Honeywell is working with Jetoptera to power a revolutionary fluidic propulsive system (FPS) that will change the dynamic of forward flight operations within the defense industry. 

The first and only proven FPS of its kind, the system will use a Honeywell APU or Turbine to power an air compressor that supplies the primary fluid to the FPS thrusters to create thrust; applications include vertical take-off and landing, short take-off and landing and other manned and unmanned platforms without rotors, propellers or turbofans.

We’re excited to be working with Jetoptera to leverage our turboshaft engine technologies to create a solution that addresses the military requirements for next-generation aircraft.  The FPS will replace legacy propulsion systems and should enable faster, safer and less-detectable aircraft. The system will support a wide range of missions, including transporting troops and cargo under battlefield conditions and utilizes standard aviation fuel. When Jetoptera decided to bring fluidic propulsion to the defense world, it turned to Honeywell for assistance, and with good reason. No one knows more about turboshaft engines than we do.
